With the geographical and population growth of Watford City the need for the capability to provide response to multiple concurrent emergencies resulted in acquisition of additional firefighting apparatus  and medical response units. The expanded emergency vehicle fleet required that a facility for their storage be provided in addition to the existing fire station. The new 6,394 SF facility includes a 640 SF classroom, kitchen, two storage rooms, two offices, reception area, restrooms, and six equipment bays.
Heating and cooling of the facility is provided by hydronic in-slab heating and dual fuel roof mounted heat pumps. The hydronic heating system also extends to the concrete apron extending along the front  of the building at the apparatus bay doors.
