Salish Kootenai College is a tribal institution located on the Flathead Indian Reservation between Kalispell and Missoula. During construction of the Joe MacDonald Health Education Center on the SKC campus funding was received for the Johnny Arlee/Victor Charlo Theater ? a performing arts center. This work was added to the initial contract as a change order as it was master planned as part of the fitness center complex of buildings. The matching architecture of the theater also was of masonry, precast and steel construction. The theater features a 210 seat auditorium with thrust style stage, an attached classroom as well as lobby and support spaces. Like the health education center, air to air heat pumps with energy recovery ventilation were used.
